Project #1: SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Our Purpose: To advance education by providing publicly available scholarship grants to students in need to be used for post-secondary education, within Canada and in other countries.

Activities: Our Voice of Carmona Worldwide Society (VOCS) started its scholarship program in 2014 in the Philippines. We have twelve VOCS scholars. Six scholars had graduated. We currently have six scholars remaining. Ever since, they receive Canadian $100 or Philippine Pesos P4,000 every six months, through a cash remittance from VOCS. The remittance fee of about Can$10 is paid by VOCS.

VOICE OF CARMONA WORLDWIDE SOCIETY (TINIG NG CARMONA)

Proudly Presents

1. MARK DANIEL BELAMIDE
Our VOCS scholar since 2014. Bachelors of Science (BS) in Information Technology, Cavite State University, Carmona, Cavite, Philippines. Graduated in 2014. On July 15, 2017, Mark was awarded "The First Scholar of Voice of Carmona Award" with a special certificate and a cash prize of $250 or PhP10,000. The awarding ceremony was held during the First Annual Conference and Third Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Voice of Carmona Worldwide Society, in Carmona, Cavite, Philippines. Mark was also awarded "Voice of Carmona's Special Graduation Award" with a special certificate, plus Can$100 or PhP4,000, during our VOCS' Annual General Meeting (AGM)           on July 14, 2018.

"I have been a proud scholar of VOCS. This scholarship program has helped me a lot to finish my college. It started when my father had a stroke and I was taking my last subject in college, commonly known as Thesis. The money that came from our VOCS scholarship program had benefitted  me a lot. I used that money for my research, for doing surveys in different people who will use the system that I have created, and for the preparation for my final title defense. I just want to thank all the VOCS officers, especially to Florante Alumia, our VOCS President, for this kind of program that you have organized. I hope that our VOCS family will always stay stronger, and will always continue to develop more scholars, who will provide a good recognition in their chosen career. VOCS all the way! Thank you." -  Mark Daniel Belamide

                                                   2. ANNA BELTRAN                                                                                               Our VOCS scholar since 2014. Graduated in 2017. BS Accountancy. 3. LENNIE ANNE ENVERGA
Our VOCS scholar since 2014. Graduated in 2018, BS in Electronic Engineering, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Santa Rosa City, Laguna, Philippines.

4. ERRIANE JUSTINE ENVERGA
Our VOCS scholar since 2014. Presently Fourth Year, BS Applied Physics, University of the Philippines, Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines.

"Hi! I am Erriane Justine B. Enverga, an incoming junior student at University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), taking Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics. It is really harder to study during college than during high school and elementary. Specializing on one field takes a lot hard work, focus, passion and effort. Aside from those, life in college becomes more difficult if you cannot afford to, financially. That is why, I am truly grateful because I have scholarships that were helping me survive the first two years of my college years. Voice of Carmona Worldwide Society (VOCS) is one of those who continuously believes in me. I always use scholarships as one of my inspirations. I am happy that there are still people who care that much for education, that they help individuals which they think have the rights for education. I consider VOCS as a blessing to me and my family.

By the way, I am second of the six daughters of Edwin Enverga, Jr. and Jenny Enverga. The money that my father earns is not enough to support us, especially now that all of us, six, are going to school. I used some of the grants that I received from the past semesters to contribute to our expenses in house and some for my own expenses  at the university. I usually spend the money for my foods on the dormitory, where I stay at UPLB. As a VOCS scholar and officer, I promise to do my best to help improve our organization. I will fulfill the duties assigned to me and according to our pledge. I also promise to be dedicated on studying, not forgetting how to enjoy life while in the university. However, I believe that diploma would be nothing if I will not act. Studying is not just for me, my dreams and my family, but also for our country. I will use my future expertise on the benefit of the nation and the others.

Again, thank you, VOCS! Of course not just for the cash, but also for the impact you’re making to our lives. I am one with you. I love that your main ideal is “altruism.” Charity and giving are also near to my heart. I know each one of us can help in the very least that we can do, if we have in our heart the passion of giving. I pray that God will always bless the whole VOCS. Thank you, again, and more power!" - Erriane Justine Enverga

Canada's Food Guide

VOICE OF CARMONA'S FOOD DRIVE AND FEEDING PROGRAM FOLLOWS CANADA'S FOOD GUIDE

Since 2016, Voice of Carmona Worldwide Society (VOCS) has a food drive and feeding program every six months in a village in the Philippines. Our VOCS Directors screen and select our feeding program recipients, (i.e., the village with poor people).

Our feeding program strictly follows the recommendations of Canada’s Food Guide, a nutrition guide produced by Health Canada. Health Canada is the national public health department of the Government of Canada.               Click here: Canada's Food Guide:

We spend PhP32,000 or Can$900 yearly for our feeding program. Each feeding event costs PhP16,000                   or Can$450 per day. When VOCS has more funds, the feeding event will be monthly and will still cost PhP16,000 or Can$450 monthly.

Presently, we have a food drive and feeding program every six months in a village or barangay in the Philippines. We provide an afternoon meal to the poor families of about one hundred people. It is being held                               in a free and covered basketball court in the community.

Nutritious and healthy foods and drinks are being served. The meal consists of a big bowl of hot porridge           with an egg and chicken or any meat.

Each person is also being given a piece of fruit, like apple or banana, etc., and pieces of freshly baked bread,   which is made of milk, cheese and fruits. Each person also receives water and a drink made of milk or fruits.

Each selected poor family is being given an exclusive stub or ticket to claim their grocery items. Each selected poor family receives grocery items, consisting of 4.4 lbs. (2 kilos) of uncooked rice, several pieces of freshly baked bread, canned goods, coffee, sugar, powdered milk, etc. About sixty poor families receive the said grocery items.

Each feeding event usually takes about three hours, including set-up and clean-up. Usually, we have about ten unpaid volunteers from the said village, which are enough manpower. Currently, we spend Can$900 yearly           for our feeding program. Each feeding event costs Can$450 per day. When VOCS has more funds,                          the feeding event will be monthly and will still cost Can$450 monthly.
